The Parklands United Sports Club welcomes your Touch entry for the 2024/2025 Junior competition at Parklands Reserve.
Team Registrations are our preferred means of entry. Get yourself together with a group of friends and register your team online at www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/304188.
A minimum of 6 players are required, but we recommend a squad of 8-10 players to play the game.
Interested in playing touch but don’t know of anyone else that is interested? Sign up as an individual and we will help to pull together a team for you where we can. Where possible we will try to allocate players together based on their school as this may help with team dynamics, but this may not always be possible. Please note that for individual registrations Parklands United Sports Club will not provide a coach for the team. Our role in this will be to coordinate teams and then put parents in contact with each other to help coordinate a parent or two to help coach and manage the teams.
Individual registrations can be made online at www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/304183
The module is held on Friday evenings from 4pm with grades available as follows:
Draws will be based on the number of entries per grade. Grades may be split into 2 sections. Byes may occur if an odd number of teams.
The term 4 season will commence on Friday 25th October 2024 and run for 6 weeks (excluding Canterbury Anniversary on 15th November). A new competition will run in term 1/2025
Team and Individual Registration fees must be paid with registration. Parklands United Sports Club reserves the right to exclude any team or player that registers without payment.
The fees for Term 4-2024 are as follows:
$150 per team registered (this is when a full team is registered)
$30 per individual registration (cost includes admin around team placement and coordination)

If as a player, or your team is not financial by then the team may be stood down until the fees are paid in full.
Within each team all players MUST wear the same colour t-shirt when playing. Teams do not have to have exact matching tops and there is no requirement for teams to have numbers on their shirts.
Should 2 teams clash with colours, bibs will be provided for the nominated ‘away’ team to wear.
Shoes MUST be worn at all times by both players and referees.
No jewellery or watches may be worn.
All official results up to the previous week will be available on the Club Website – www.parklandsunited.co.nz or with the Organiser on the field each week. Please note that results are not captured for the Year 0-2 or Year 3-4 age groups.
For all mixed grades (year 5+) a minimum of 2 girls must be on the field at all times!! In the Year 0-2 and Year 3-4 grades there is no required make up of the teams.
In the Year 5-6 and Year 7-8 grades, there is the option to sign up for an all boys grade. Depending on entry numbers there may be some crossover games with the mixed teams.
Points scoring
All tries scored are worth 1 point. If a minimum of 2 girls are on the pitch and a girl scores a try, this will be worth double points.
Game length
All games are 15 minute halves. The siren will be sounded for the start of the game, at halftime and the end of the game. Please note that the siren will not be sounded to indicate the start of the 2nd half of your game. Teams are to have a 1 or 2-minute break and then begin the 2nd half themselves under the referee’s command.
Parklands United Sports Club will not supply referees for this module and ask that each team provides a coach or adult to referee half the game each. Our focus is on enabling participation and so we have kept the costs of this module low so as to enable this to be able to occur.
In particular the year 0-4 age groups it is about participation and having a go learning the sport. Some rules may be made flexible in these age groups.
We will look to host a ‘Learn the basics’ style evening prior to the module starting which will enable coaches, managers and parents the opportunity to upskill and assist with the running of these games.
The Clubrooms will be open every Friday night for the teams after playing to socialise. We encourage you to join your team members in the clubrooms after the game. The lolly and drinks counter will be open and hot food will also be available to purchase.
Following the Junior Module we will be running our Senior Module once again so get your friends together and create a Social team and make an evening of it.
A decision will be made by 2.00 pm on the Friday and your Team Manager will receive a text/email to advise the decision. Thiswill also be on the website and club Facebook Page.
Please do not assume that touch will be cancelled.
Please try and make sure only the coaches/managers contact the competition administrator. This is just for practical reasons.
